Hello, everyone. I’d like to address something:
I have had players come up to me and confide in me that they basically feel like they’re being bullied for playing the game of Survivor.
This isn’t cool. I’m not going to out people, but you know who you are.
This is a game where people make alliances. People get eliminated. It’s a really fun game, but obviously it can sometimes suck when things don’t go your way. But that is Survivor. If you don’t like that, you shouldn’t play or watch.
I host this game with good values. Players (and host) deserve respect. Spectators deserve respect, too.
When decisions are made, decisions are final. If decisions aren’t respected, then the game can’t be played.
Just because players play good and dominate hard doesn’t mean they’re bad.
I know I received flack for decisions I’ve had to make. Pandora’s Box 2 is a sore spot for me. I’ll own up to that. But, if I go wushu-washy as the host with my decisions, the game cannot be trusted anymore. If I let Addy reverse-decide, then I would’ve gotten just as much flack. Yes, I said first come first serve, but that entails you stating that you wish to be served in the first place.
I didn’t force Breeze to quit. He chose that. And now, it creates this narrative that it’s unfair for Aura. This is Survivor. Dealing with what comes your way even the odds are stacked against you.
Here’s what I want from everyone:
•Respect for everyone. This isn’t a crazy request. This is a game. We are people. Everyone deserves respect.
•Trust decisions as final. If we can’t trust me, there isn’t a game. Please trust that I do everything with the intention of a fair game where we can all have fun and be in a safe environment.
•Have fun. It’s a forum game! This is nothing serious. If you can’t have fun, what are you doing here, then?
I felt compelled to type this all out because of pure frustration. I’ve had some good players who are GREAT people confide in me about things that truly make me feel sad and frustrated. I want everyone to think about that. I’ve had my things I’ve dealt with already in this game that hurt me but I pressed on. No one deserves to feel bad because they’re playing the game.
I would like everyone to just take a step back and think about all this.
I appreciate everyone, and thank you for taking the time to read this. I wouldn’t have written it out if I didn’t feel so strongly.
Let’s take some time for ourselves then we shall move forward.
