Listen, one of the worst things that you can do in life is to constantly be dependent on someone to do something for you. All it does is show others that you’re a vexatious individual who’s far too incompetent to do anything for themselves. At a job, the employer would label you as a liability. Now before you reach your hand out to someone, just ask yourself whether a job can be done by yourself. These are 10, basic things that you should learn how to do on your own as an adult:
- Fixing things in your house
- Taking care of your own lawn
- Paying bills with your own money
- Having your own car insurance
- Having your own health insurance
- Having your own dental insurance
If you can’t do any of these things, then obviously there’s a problem. Everyone’s situation is different. But I’ll be damned if I’m lacking the first one where I don’t have my own ride. It’s just incredibly frustrating having to hit up a homie or a relative, every time you need to get some errands done. At some point, they’ll think that you’re using them, and then they’ll tell you to get your shit together. It’s a realty check and a massive punch to the gut, but it’s the cold-hearted truth. People have their own problems in life, and the last thing that you want to do is be that guy or girl who’s constantly needing someone for something.
Being independent sounds so much sweeter than dealing with bullshit from other people. Some people are disabled with special needs, therefore I can sympathize for that part. But a grown ass man or woman who’s healthy with a roof over their head and no issues, you gotta drill some effin discipline into your skull and learn to be more independent. There’s nothing wrong with asking for help, but when it becomes a pattern where it happens more frequently (even though you already know better), then we got a problem. Unless you’re paying someone, most people won’t do any charity work for you all the time.

This is a story and an RP. I will write a story and you posters can participate in it.
(Think of it like an experimental TTRPG game. I am the GM.)
The story in one sentence:
You awaken in what seems to be "the future", on a spaceship, with no memory of your past, and you are now expected to integrate into this unfamiliar, yet familiar, society.
The Rules
Joining
In order to join all you have to do is:
- Say you want to.
- Create Character.
After that you will be added in. (I will write how - Probably the same way as everyone else.)
Note: You don't have to have read any of the previous story to join since your character knows nothing anyways. Of course, knowing more will help you figure out what you want to do with your character though.
Character Creation
Everyone will awake as an amnesiac. Therefore, Do Not Create a Backstory. You do not know your character's backstory, if they have one at all.
Create a Name. Preferably a Legal Name:
(First Name + Surname. Ex: Jon Doe / Jane Doe)
Create an Appearance and Characteristics:
- Sex / Gender (As Vague as You Want)
- Age (Approximate)
- Cosmetic Stuff: Skin Tone, Eye Color, Hair, Hair Color, Body Type, Tall/Short, Body Markings, ect.
- Disabilities/Special Abilities: Bad Eyesight/Good Eyesight, Paraplegic/Limp, Severe Color Blindness, Hypermobility, ect.
For simplicity's sake, let's say you can only be a Human.
To Participate
You perform whatever you want to. No restrictions. (Just don't break forum rules.) If rules need to be invented we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
Try to match other posters' energy. I will try my best as well.
About Not Participating
Let's say you choose to not post, or you forget to post, or you miss a bit, or you quit forever, or quit temporarily: Don't worry! There is no expectation to participate. If you do not act in a time appropriate manner, your character will simply be idle. In lore this is known as "Sudden Sleep Disorder", or in other words, "your character spontaneously fell asleep", probably while standing. (More explained in story/lore.)
Disclaimers
The story will include various dark themes from time to time: IE. Death, Murder, Basic Gore, ect. Participate at your own discretion if you have triggers. I also will likely use swears occasionally.
Additionally, I, as the gamemaster, am fallible. I may misinterpret your intents and actions and may make your character behave differently than how you would expect.
Also, I am making this semi-spontaneously. I have no idea how little/much traction this will get, so I have not planned too far ahead, so bare with my skills or lack thereof please.
Everything Must One Day End
Everything gets boring. Everything has a perfect time to die for dramatic effect. At some point, potentially never, the story/scenario may end. Also, at some point prior to this, I may decide to permanently "kill off" your character.
There's a strong chance this might never happen, that we never get this far, but just know that it can happen, and if this goes on infinitely, it will. After a story/scenario ends permanently, a new one will be created with different circumstances.
If your character gets killed off permanently, you are allowed to make a new one. Also, if you want to see your character be permanently killed off, either because you want a new character, or because you want to quit, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
FAQ
If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask.
Any comments or suggestions let me know.
The Spaceship
Over the Intercom - A Robotic Male Voice:
"A New Member: Sonny Sunlight has awakened."
A sleek, white-painted, titanium pod releases steam. At the front of it, a curved door with an opaque sky-blue window glides out and upwards, like a moth wing emerging from a cocoon. As it does, the dark interior is revealed along with the body situated inside. They are a pale man, unconscious, with long, tangled, brown hair. Then, the chamber brightens with deep marine-colored neon lights inside.
For a second, the blinding lights pierce his eyes as he comes to. His crusty eyes flutter open gently.
Sonny Sunlight:
"W-Wuh... Where am I?" are his first words upon his rebirth. He pulls himself up out of the pod. White fluorescent lights and boring off-white greets him. Sonny takes note that the room has many, many, more pods. Most of them are closed, but various random ones are open.
At the far wall of the room, what appears as a young adult, pink-haired, female, nurse behind a windowed desk meets eyes with Sonny. She then opens the door between the win-desk and the chamber room.
She approaches with gray clothes in hand for Sonny and an awkward smile on her face.

Someone want to step up to the plate and explain to us how this man’s huge tariffs on China is benefiting us? He’s been in office for what, 3 months now and he’s already making a mess out of this country. A 145% tax tariff on China (which is where we get most of our goods from) sounds expensive. A vast majority of our goods in the US are literally made from China. Then this man had the gall to say that “America will be rich again”. I don’t see how the hell that’s possible with these ridiculous tariffs. Then he lied and said the gas prices were going down, when in reality, they’re steadily climbing as we speak.
When you’re a billionaire, you don’t really give a shit about the American people. Maybe that’s a harsh thing to say, but it’s usually affirmative when you pay attention to a person’s actions.
Anyway, what do you guys think about these ridiculous tariffs? I wanna hear from real humans, no bots!

Problem: Players have to wait more than 7 days after rating a level before they can rate it again
Type of Problem: Server
Expected Behavior: Players have to wait exactly 7 days (604,800 seconds) before rating a level again
Actual Behavior: Players have to wait more than 7 days before rating a level again
Steps to Reproduce the Problem:
1. Rate Memories by Stunt (6508994) 5 stars
2. Wait exactly 7 days
3. Try to rate it 5 stars again
You will get the message: Error: You have recently voted on this level. You can vote on it again in a week.
Additional Information:
This problem lies in the platform-racing-2-server/common/queries/ratings.php file.
On line 57, old ratings are deleted if they are more than 7 days old.
This means that ratings that are exactly 7 days old will not get deleted, and players will have to wait an extra day for the query to be run again.
Given that players can rate levels during any time of the day, they will most likely have to wait more than 7 days before they can rate again.
For example, if I rate a level 6 hours into the day, the rating deletion query will run X.75 days after the rating was made, meaning that I will have to wait 7.75 days before I can rate again.
No matter when I rate a level, I will have to wait 7.00-7.99 days (average of 7.5) before I can rate it again.
So I think the rating deletion query should delete ratings that are 6.5+ days old, so that players will only have to wait 6.50-7.49 days (average of 7) instead.
Either that, or the daily queries should be run more often.
